My work evolves through the making process and a love of textured fabrics. I have re-interpreted vintage stitch samples using multi-head embroidery processes to create a collection of fabrics and trimmings that could be used for both fashion and furnishing contexts. Layered stitches are hand finished to reveal stitch structure, colour mixes and hidden patterns.
I have always been interested in clothing and fabrics, particularly those that are embroidered and embellished and I love looking at historical costumer. I did Art A level and later did short courses on fashion, styling and machine embroidery before doing an Art Foundation and more recently an Embroidery Degree. I am currently studying a Textiles MA at Manchester School of Art.
